As The Spirit Increases,The Flesh Decreases

Colossians 3:1-14
I just love this chapter. We can all
find
ourselves somewhere in this chapter.
In verses 1-3,
it reminds us that our minds need
to be focused more on what is
above. Storing up
treasures in Heaven. Our real life is in
Christ
Jesus- it is not in what we have here on earth.
There
is no eternal value in earthly things. As
we are clothed more
with the new Spiritual self,
more of the flesh will die away. As
the Spirit
increases, our flesh decreases. We are made
brand-new creations, but it doesn’t happen overnight.
We need
to actively put away, or rid ourselves,
of the desires and works
of the flesh, and this
is a daily process. It’s a daily dying to
self.
May we really desire to be clothed with the
nature
of Jesus - in every area of our lives.
We need to allow the Holy
Spirit to be in
control and to increase more in our lives.
By
doing this we will become transformed
and live more according to
God’s standards
rather than the world’s
standards.

I appeal to you therefore, brethren, and
beg
of you in view of [all] the mercies of God,
to make a
decisive dedication of your bodies
[presenting all your members
and faculties]
as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted,
consecrated)
and well pleasing to God, which is your
reasonable
(rational, intelligent) service and
spiritual
worship. Do not be conformed to this world
(this
age), [fashioned after and adapted to
its external, superficial
customs], but be
transformed (changed) by the [entire]
renewal
of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude],
so that you may prove [for yourselves]
what is the good and
acceptable and perfect will
of God, even the thing which is good
and acceptable
and perfect [in His sight for you].

Fill us with your Holy Spirit
Afresh
today O Lord
So we will totally be transformed
From what we
were before.
