Faith And Actions

Read: James 2: 14-26
As we see here from our reading today, faith
goes hand in hand with actions.
We cannot say we have faith in God, if we don’t
show it in our lives – in how we treat other people.
When we see a need, we should meet that need
by providing for the person. We can’t turn our
backs on people – especially our brothers and
sisters in the faith, or our friends and family
– when they are in need. If we can help them
out in some way, we need to be willing to do so.
As God blesses us, we in-turn should bless
others. Freely we have received, so freely we
should give.
Faith and actions work together. There is a
saying that goes ‘actions speak louder than
words’. This is so true. We can speak all the
right words, but it means nothing if we don’t
back it up with actions.
Let our lifestyles show our faith.

If anyone has material possessions and sees his
brother in need but has no pity on him, how can
the love of God be in him? Dear children, let
us not love with words or tongue but with
actions and in truth. - 1 John 3: 17-18
