Devotional: God Brings The Increase

Children's Christian Devotion about God increasing the little that we have

This story is so amazing. This poor widow had nothing to offer but a little oil. In the hands of God though, it was enough. He brought the increase as the oil continued to flow, until all the jars were full.

This speaks to me of giving God the little we have because He will multiply it. We can never have too little that God wouldn't be able to use us. He wants us to take what we do have and be faithful in using it for Him. He will take care of the rest. I've seen this in my own life. God has brought increase more than I ever imagined.

Whatever gifts or abilities you have, commit it to God and ask Him to show you where and how you can be used. It often starts off small, but God brings the increase.

My challenge for you today is to find ways in which your talents can be used–and start using them. God has given them to you for a reason. Trust God to bring the increase as you step out and do it. Trust God to multiply what you have committed to Him–because He will.

Then Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, spoke up. "There’s a young boy here with five barley loaves and two fish. But what good is that with this huge crowd?" "Tell everyone to sit down," Jesus said. So they all sat down on the grassy slopes. (The men alone numbered about 5,000.) Then Jesus took the loaves, gave thanks to God, and distributed them to the people. Afterward he did the same with the fish. And they all ate as much as they wanted. After everyone was full, Jesus told his disciples, "Now gather the leftovers, so that nothing is wasted." So they picked up the pieces and filled twelve baskets with scraps left by the people who had eaten from the five barley loaves. - John 6:8-13 (NLT)

The Lord will multiply the little you have,
Those gifts He has placed within
He increases it beyond what you ever dreamed
As you offer it up to Him.
