We need to stand up for our faith
No matter what others do,
Even if our sisters and brothers fall,
We need to stand faithful and true
For we are not here to please ourselves,
Nor please those that we stand by,
The only one we should ever please
Is our Lord and saviour Christ
We need to remain sensitive
To what the Spirit says,
Don't listen to the differing voices,
For they'll only lead you astray
For many are influenced by this world,
Its views sound spiritual and good,
But when we look into the word of God,
We find they have not understood
Just what is written within God's word,
The truths that these pages hold,
For this is the truth that will set us free
Bringing soundness to our souls
So when you're faced with a situation
And you don't know if it is right,
When the Holy Spirit does not bear witness,
We can know that it's not of the light
For the Holy Spirit bears witness to truth
And gives us peace in our hearts
If we're debating issues in our minds,
We may be heading down the wrong path
Stop for a while and pray it through,
Lifting it up to Christ
Meditate on God's holy word,
For it's this that directs our lives
For as we do this, we will learn
To discern what is the truth
And we will grow into maturity
