Matthew 14: 22-34
This passage is a
perfect illustration of stepping
out of our
comfort zones, and going into the
unfamiliar.
Like Peter getting out of the
boat and actually
walking on water. He
stepped out of His comfort
zone (boat) and
went into unfamiliar territory.
That is how
we can feel when God calls us into
an area
that maybe is unfamiliar to us. But this
is
how God can stretch us in our faith. He
wants
to expand our borders, and maybe try
new things.
It can be really scary. We may
even start to sink
as Peter did. But if we
don’t ever get out of the
boat, we will never
know the new things God wants
to do in and
through us. He has so much in store
for us,
more than we could ever dream of.
What is
there that God has placed in your heart
that
you feel you should be doing, or like to
try?
Are you holding back for fear of the
unknown?
What small steps can you take in
pursuing it?
You know, it only takes one
small step at a time.
God gently leads us. He
doesn’t expect the whole
‘dream’ or ‘vision’
to be birthed and made fully
completed over
night. Often we just need to take
small steps
at a time. As we are willing to take
those
steps, He will begin to open doors that
we
are ready to go through.
Commit
these things to the Lord. Ask Him to show
you
in what ways you could be making steps
toward
the dream becoming a reality. He will
show you,
and you will find that it is
something that you
maybe able to handle at
this point. Remember it’s
the small things,
the small steps that will get us
started. So
today, decide in your heart, you’ll
start
‘stepping out’.

The steps of a [good]
man are directed and established
by the Lord
when He delights in his way [and He
busies
Himself with his every step]. Though
he falls, he shall
not be utterly cast down,
for the Lord grasps his hand
in support and
upholds him.
Psalm 37: 23-24

May you direct each
step I take
As I leave my comfort-zone
And
go into unfamiliar places
The areas, to me,
unknown.
