Read:
Ephesians 5:1-21
"...Therefore be
imitators of God [copy Him
and follow His
example], as well-beloved children
[imitate
their fathers]..."
I guess this verse sums
it up. We need to be
imitators of God. Our
hearts desire should be
that of becoming
Christ-like in every area of
our lives. God
isn't interested in just a little
bit of us. He
doesn't want to be put in a box
labelled
'Religion' and left on the side - only
to be
opened up now and then when we need Him.
He
wants to be involved in every area of
our
lives. Even the little things about our
lives
He is interested in.
Our mindset
should change to wanting our lives to
be in
line with God's ways. I know we can't
change
over night. Some things drop away more
easily
than other things. And often when we
breakthrough
in one area, we discover something
else to put
right. I often liken this to an
onion. You peel
back one layer only to find
another layer underneath. God puts His finger
on different areas
where we need to change. But
thankfully we don't
have to do this on our own.
God works in us - and
with us, to bring about
that change.
But despite all of that, we
need to have a desire
to walk in God's ways -
rather than the world's ways.
A lot of these
things mentioned in verses 3-5
seem to be
commonplace in today's society. No one
seems to
be concerned, and it's almost like if
you don't
live this way; you’re out-of-date,
old
fashioned. But God doesn't think so. His
ways do
not change to fit into the times we
live - neither
should we. Our lives need to
reflect our faith.
V: 15 says, "Look
carefully then how you walk! Live
purposefully
and worthily and accurately, not as
the unwise
and witless, but as wise (sensible,
intelligent
people)". We really need to examine
our walk!
When we live our lives in the light
of God's
word - we can't go
wrong.

For My thoughts are not
your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,
says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher
than the earth, so are My ways higher than your
ways and My thoughts than your
thoughts.
Isaiah 55: 8-9(Amp)

Lord I ask that you
would help me Walk faithfully in your
ways To strip away the deeds of darkness And
walk in the light of
grace.
