Devotional: Our Faithful God
God's Faithfulness and protection from the Enemy

But the Lord is
faithful, and He will strengthen you [setting you on a firm foundation] and will protect and guard you from the
evil one. - 2 Thessalonians 3:3 (AMP)
God is always faithful—He
can't not be!
He has promised to
strengthen us, protect us and guard us—and He is faithful to do it.
God sets us on a firm
foundation, which is none other than Jesus Christ. Jesus is our rock—the rock of ages. He is our cornerstone and
our foundation, which is stable and solid—it can never fracture or break.
God protects and guards
us from the evil one. We can have complete assurance in the safety and security of Jesus. No matter how much the
enemy roars and shoots His fiery darts at us, we can remain unshakeable and unwavering in Jesus—as we remember
to whom we belong! We are sealed by the Holy Spirit as owned and protected by God (Ephesians 1:13; 2 Corinthians 1:22).
We needn't fear the enemy of our souls because he is defeated, and we have been empowered by the Holy Spirit.
Human strength wanes in
the face of the enemy—we need God's supernatural strength. We need to live in total reliance on God, and as we do
so, He strengthens us. He sets us on the firm foundation of Christ. He protects us and guards us—because He is
faithful!
We need to know who we
are in Christ and who our Father God is: the Almighty, all-powerful, all-knowing and everywhere present God of
the universe. The enemy is no match for Him and shouldn't be any match for us because we are "in Christ Jesus"
and bear His name and the authority of that name. Knowing this brings us a deeper sense of peace and well-being
in Jesus, for He is our peace.
It's good to pause now
and then to consider the ways in which God has shown His faithfulness to us. As we take time to reflect on the
many times that He has strengthened us in the midst of a trial or a difficult season, and how He has protected us
from the enemy's onslaughts, it should prompt us to give Him our thanks and our praise. Our God is good and
forever faithful!
