Read:Revelation 3: 14-22

God had this charge against the church at Laodicea. Because they were ‘lukewarm’ He will spew them out of His mouth. Strong words!

I hope that God would not want to spew any of us out of His mouth. So we need to get ‘hot’ for Him.

We may think that all is well, and that we have all we need. But really we are poor, blind and naked.

Poor spiritually – lacking real understanding.

Blind spiritually – not been able to see our true spiritual state.

Naked spiritually - not being clothed with Christ himself.

We need to repent of ‘Luke warmness’ and once again become enthusiastic – burning with zeal – for the Lord.

He longs to have fellowship with us. He wants us to be ‘rich’ spiritually and have spiritual insight surpassing worldly knowledge, and to be clothed with Jesus Christ’s righteousness.

Being a lukewarm Christian causes us to not be concerned with much at all. We become indifferent to real human needs around us. We become inactive and unproductive for the Lord. This is a dangerous place to be, because we may end up taking on the world’s standards, not really understanding or even caring about what affect that will have on our spiritual well being. God will discipline and chasten this attitude – in order for us to repent and get ‘hot’ for Him once again.

If you are in this place, know that God loves you and longs for you to become enthusiastic for Him again. Don’t settle for anything less than what God has for you. Choose today to get ‘Hot’ for Jesus.

Never lag in zeal and in earnest endeavor; be aglow and burning with the Spirit, serving the Lord. ~ Romans 12: 11

Lord I’m sorry for being lukewarm
Please revive me once again
So I can burn with holy zeal
Like I had way back then
